Fishing
Fishing is allowed in both Sequoia and Kings Canyon National
Parks.
A California fishing license is required for anyone 16 or older. You can get copies of the park-specific regulations at any visitor
center.
There are 800 miles of streams and 500 lakes with rainbow
and eastern brook trout. Streams are usually cold and swift and can be very
powerful. The surrounding rocks may be slippery, so be careful.
In Kings Canyon, Hume Lake offers fishing, swimming, boat rental, and
camping. To contact the Hume Lake District Office, call (559) 338-2251.
